Il caldo non accenna a fermarsi ma neanche BlackBerry lo fa. In occasione della presentazione italiana del BlackBerry Q5, infatti, il produttore ci ha invitato per mostrarci l’ultimo nato, il terzo della generazione Blackberry 10 dopo Z10 e Q10.

Con il nuovo Q5 cambia il target che va a rivolgersi a quelli che il produttore stesso definisce BlackBerry People. Si tratta fondamentalmente di una categoria di giovani sempre connessi, che cercano uno strumento per gestire il lavoro, sono produttivi e vedono gli ostacoli come nuove sfide da superare.

BlackBerry lancia quindi uno smartphone con in mente un target ben preciso e propone un design misto touch & type grazie alla QWERTY, con tasti ampi e ben spaziati, e al touchscreen da 3.1 pollici che permette di utilizzare le gesture introdotte da BlackBerry 10.

Il risultato è un candybar con schermo da 720 x 720 pixel, il tutto avvolto in una plastica colorata che, dal vivo nelle versioni nera e rossa, ci è sembrata un po’ troppo cheap, facendoci preferire di gran lunga quella opaca bianca.

All’esterno si è andati quindi a risparmiare ma sotto la scocca batte un cuore di tutto rispetto. Il processor  è un Qualcomm Dual Core da 1.2 Ghz di clock, frequenza che si è dimostrata più che sufficiente a gestire le parche richieste hardware dell’OS 10. La RAM è di ben 2 GB, quindi al top del mercato, dell latitude d620 battery e in grado di gestire un multitasking selvaggio. Sacrificato invece lo spazio per l’archiviazione che è di soli 8 GB: una scelta che va incontro alla necessità di tagliare per ridurre il prezzo ma che può essere bypassata senza problemi grazie allo slot microSD.

Per il resto la dotazione è completa con le varie radio Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, NFC e modulo telefonico LTE. Il tutto a 399€ con la possibilità di acquistare il BlackBerry Q5 anche con i principali operatori.

Parlando brevemente delle prime impressioni, il Q5 spiazza all’inizio per lo schermo quadrato a cui bisognerà abituarsi e che ci sembra un po’ piccolo per il pinch-to-zoom, specie per chi ha le dita più grandi. Al contrario le sensazioni per la QWERTY, ottima come sempre e davvero ben spaziata e con tasti ampi per scrivere senza inciampare in lettere indesiderate.
